FATHMATH SAUSAN (Maldives)

Fathmath Sausan is a young poet and artist of Maldives. She had her education in Maldives, London and Australia. Fathmath is a versatile talent : teacher, author, poet, painter, illustrator and translator. She is currently studying Law and translates legal documents. A new emerging talent on poetry horizon of Maldives, she has been participating in SAARC Festivals of Literature of FOSWAL.

Look how lovely the midnight forest is,

Unblended Miracles

Love and success
Are never welcome in one house
For, yours is either love or success
One must think why?
I’d say love holds you back
Whilst success runs out of time
Successful you get
When love walks out of your door

Memories

Smell of lily
Brings back the memory
The darkness of my room
Fading away my gloom
Promising happy lights
Promising longing nights.
